A Romantic Fall Tablescape

Hobby Lobby: green pumpkins / galvanized cake plates (I couldn't find these on the site) / candlesticks  Bed Bath Beyond: dishware

Decorating makes me as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning. My heart literally wants to explode when I start seeing a room come together. It is just something I have always loved to do since I was little. My mom was an interior designer, so I was heavily influenced by her style growing up. Now, I've got my own little hive and it has been a dream come true to make our first house a home.

One of my favorite things about having our home is being able to entertain guests. Kirk and I have family and friends come stay with us all the time, and it makes me so happy to have my guests surrounded by a cozy atmosphere. Our dining room changes with the seasons, and now that Fall has arrived I put together a romantic earth-toned tablescape that you can easily put together too.

Candles are crucial. I always load my table up with candles. All of the pumpkins are real except for the smaller greenish ones (those are from Hobby Lobby). Pumpkins tend to last a good while, so if I can stick to using the real deal that's what I will usually go with. TIP:Did you know your pumpkins will last even LONGER if you soak them in a tub of bleach water? That's what I do to the ones we put out on the front porch who are exposed the elements..it really makes a difference! Guess it makes some kind of protective barrier. Anyway, back to the tablescape! The green foliage is all from Hobby Lobby as well as the galvanized cake stands. Hobby Lobby has the cutest farmhouse decor and this week all their floral and fall sections were 50% off! I got lucky because they labeled the cake stands as "fall party supplies", so those were considered part of the deal. They were originally priced at $25. The candlesticks in the center were also from Hobby Lobby...not on sale, but still worth it!

With the earthy tones already going I now had to find a little color to brighten it up. I chose orange (typical fall color), because it went really well with what I had already. The mini orange pumpkins are so cute.. I also incorporated some orange into the cake stand ensemble. We got the plates as a wedding gift by, Lenox. You can find them at Bed Bath and Beyond! I paired those with a gold charger to accent the mercury glass tea lights. Adding a little foliage to each plate gives it a little more personalization, which can be switched out for each holiday. Lay out some crystal glassware and you're ready to go! See?? Super easy, right??

I am so excited with the way it turned out! I'm literally still sitting here having my Pinot. Please let me know what you think. What are your favorite decor stores? I'm always on the hunt for other good honey holes!

Cheers and Happy Harvest!
