How to Decorate Your Home for Fall

Hello Loves!

I just love this time of year! Now that Halloween is over Thanksgiving will be upon us quicker than you know it! I wanted to pull this post together to give you some simple tips to decorate your home for Fall.

So let’s dive in and go beyond just the porch pumpkins and holiday wreaths. It’s what’s inside that you’ll actually be sitting on, looking at daily, and enjoying. I love bringing Fall (and really any other season) in with a quick pillow change. I was at Homegoods and found these fun and funky bright colored pillows that were perfect to add some pop in this living room of ours. It is seriously so dark in our house I’ve been getting creative on adding color. I usually change pillows out regularly as the seasons change. It just gives a fresh new feeling.

I’ve also added some orange to the front entry with my accent chair that no one ever sits on LOL. It’s cute and for looks, okay?! My solid orange pillow screams Fall and the gold studded pumpkin is a cutie I found at Homegoods last year. I LOVE this thing. 1) Its gold 2) it's studded AND gold. 3) it was seriously like $16. No joke. Homegoods is where it’s at. There is almost no way for me to link anything from there because they switch their inventory all the time and if you’ve ever been it is a random mess at times, however, I definitely recommend physically going and taking a look around. You WILL find something to decorate your home for Fall. .

Let’s take this little guy right here. I found this galvanized cake holder from Hobby Lobby and used it to hold a wreath which I then topped with a faux silver pumpkin. I added some color for a little pop. Instantly a cute and unique look you can put on an entry way table or kitchen table. I love playing with cake holders because it adds height to wherever you plan on placing it. Try and find a wreath that is perfectly sized to where it just barely hangs over the sides and the hole in the middle isn't too big so that whatever you place on it wont fall right to the bottom.

Here is another wreath around a large hurricane candle holder. I put this in the center of the kitchen table to add some movement and greenery. I threw some little pumpkins around it to add color once again. My salt and pepper shakers are MacKenzie-Childs and I absolutely love them!

Here is my kitchen window that I still need to add a treatment to. Meaning, I’ve been needing to go and get a bamboo shade for it, but Kirk is super against it. I don’t think he sees the vision I do, but I’ll probably end up doing it anyway and showing him that it looks good… what I usually do LOL. In the kitchen I change out my wreaths on the window seasonally. I get these cute minis from Homegoods and I have one for every season. I love the wheat one for Fall. I put a dark plum floral arrangement on the sill to add a romantic Fall color. If you look closely you can see where Fisher broke it, so I actually did have to put it somewhere high up.. I hated throwing it away!!!

Hi. My name is Britny and I’m addicted to MacKenzie-Childs. #guilty. But, really it’s a real obsession. I’m almost as obsessed with candles. It’s a close one. My pumpkins in my kitchen match my MacKenzie and I pretty much only buy things that aren’t going to clash with my favorite line of house ware. Bring some vanilla pumpkin or yummy Fall flavors into your kitchen. I love lighting mine when I make my morning coffee and then in the evening when I’m cooking dinner. Make everything you do in your home cozy and romantic. Even if it’s just for you alone. You light that candle and you have a great time, hun!

Moving back into the living room with my cozy couch pillows. My mantel is adorned with real pumpkins and faux greenery. Adding real pumpkins brings a natural, warm feeling into the space. Fresh… I love it! I usually am all about the orange for Fall as far as pumpkins goes, but this year I went in with the small white pumpkins and the large blue one. I think it goes well with the greenery. I got several small ones so that I could place them throughout the house. See the little one next to my farm animal figure? A perfect little spot!

Check out the basket too in the picture right above this. I bought baskets for the living room to hide all of Fisher’s toys. It is such a prettier look than straight up plastic bins being as we don't have covered storage in the living room, or cabinets. You can get these super cheap at Homegoods!

I always seasonally change the lighting on my topiaries as well. I have a love affair with lighting. So does my mom, so maybe that’s where I got it! I have lit topiaries on the front porches year round and keep some inside the house as well. This one is all aglow in orange and I found it (not prelit though there are some prelit) at At Home!

This picture makes me smile every time! Tearing up as I type this in the airport LOL.

Obviously, there are always the pumpkins on the porch. This year I added a hay bale which is strangely starting to sprout grass from it………. don’t ask me how..

I hope you enjoyed this little home tour! I usually go super ham on décor for this season, but we are heading the Valley for Thanksgiving, so I didn't want too much work to do afterwards… I go balls to the wall for Christmas. These tips are super easy and quick little changes that can give your home just enough of a Fall vibe to enjoy and it’s just as easy to switch them back when the seasons over.

Enjoy decorating your home for Fall!

HAPPY FALL!

LOVE, B
