How to Decorate Your Table for Christmas in a Modern Way

I sat there and looked at my beautiful Spode dishware. It is truly a vintage/traditional look and I usually pull these out each year. My mother-in-law gave them to me along with all of their family crystal glassware and Christmas settings. I am totally in love with the entire collection, but something has come over me this year. Maybe, it started when I decided to throw in some pink in all the decor of our main living area. I worried Kirk would be upset I wasn’t going a more traditional route, but he loves the way it all turned out!

Then, I started thinking about our table setting. I’ve done the Spode for 3-4 years now. It was time to maybe jump onto something new and fresh! I was at Hobby Lobby (of course) and saw them. Black and white striped plates. I immediately started to pull a vision together in my head and just went for it!

Unfortunately, the plates at Hobby Lobby are out of stock, however, I linked some that would do just as well or even better here. I found the cutest multicolor bottle brush trees at Hobby Lobby as well as these adorable napkin rings! I paired the plates with gold chargers ( I love the look of black and white with gold). The white and gold glass trees I have had for years, but I think I remember finding them at Homegoods. You could hit up either place with an idea of how you want your table in mind and find everything you need.

I really think I learned a lot about how to just let go of the comfortable things you do every year and try something new. This is such a modern and vibrant way to deck out your table, but I absolutely love how it turned out! Super funky and cute! It’s fun for the kids too. Sort of reminds me of a candy land type style. I even hung snowflakes on the chandelier to really amp it up.

I hope you find inspiration to have fun and decorate your table a new way this year! I certainly enjoyed it and have been soaking up all the beauty that Christmas is around the house. Send photos of your tables! I love to see what others have in mind!

Always,

Britny
